VSTE Goes Green: Over the years we’ve made an effort to reduce the amount of paper waste that gets accumulated by reducing the scope of the printed program. This year we will provide a printed conference program with only a summary schedule of the sessions available during each breakout session. For the full detailed listing of each session we encourage attendees to make use of our online schedule here which will work on mobile devices and all major platforms.

CTE Teacher

Update: I am now a full-time CTE teacher after 20 years out of the classroom. Huge changes! I am teaching our district’s new Info Tech Fundamentals course which is the first of its kind in the state. Unlike the typical ITF courses, ours combines ITF with the IC3 GS5 certification, coding with Python, and 3D modeling with SketchUp. Whew - exciting and very challenging to teach.
When I'm not working or taking classes, I love traveling (Caribbean islands and Arizona where my husband lives), hiking, photography, designing jewelry, and working on my way-too-big- for-one-person Victorian house and yard. I am also the proud mom of many four-footed children including a Cane Corso Mastiff and a huge German Shepherd. Warning - I love to share pictures of my babies!
Previously -My path to becoming an Instructional Technology Coordinator was winding and long. I spent 10 years in the corporate world, earned an MEd in Math Education, taught math grades 8-12, and finally became a CRS (ITRT) for VA Beach Schools. After a few years in non-educational work, I returned to the EdTech world. Currently I am the Instructional Technology Coordinator for Buena Vista Schools, a position which involves serving as ITRT for all 4 schools, teaching 2 CTE courses, as well as many district level duties. Because I am a big fan of life-long learning, I completed a second Master's, this time in Educational Technology Leadership.
