VSTE Goes Green: Over the years we’ve made an effort to reduce the amount of paper waste that gets accumulated by reducing the scope of the printed program. This year we will provide a printed conference program with only a summary schedule of the sessions available during each breakout session. For the full detailed listing of each session we encourage attendees to make use of our online schedule here which will work on mobile devices and all major platforms.

Find out how you can structure a teacher cohort where teachers don't just learn about new technology but consider how to connect new technology to student interests, student needs and student learning. The Teacher Leadership Project is a year-long professional learning experience that transforms teachers from occasional technology users to deep integrators. Presenters will share ideas about how to design professional learning that is project-based, hands-on, and collaborative. Discussion will include recruiting and supporting teachers, celebrating the work teachers accomplish and how to move teachers from using technology as substitution to redefinition. Presenters will use teacher and student artifacts to demonstrate that asking teachers to share, present and analyze their technology usage leads to more permanent shifts in how technology is used for teaching and learning. Participants will walk away with ideas about different approaches to professional learning and strategies for getting teachers to see themselves as technology leaders not just technology users.
