VSTE Goes Green: Over the years we’ve made an effort to reduce the amount of paper waste that gets accumulated by reducing the scope of the printed program. This year we will provide a printed conference program with only a summary schedule of the sessions available during each breakout session. For the full detailed listing of each session we encourage attendees to make use of our online schedule here which will work on mobile devices and all major platforms.

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In this hands-on session, participants will learn that it is the pedagogy behind the use of tablets - rather than the type of tablets or apps available - that is the most important factor for successful use of tablets in the classroom. Participants will be introduced to: 1. Methods of app selection - rubrics to use for determining if an app will be helpful for their specific class, websites that will give teacher reviews, and other criteria that should be taken into consideration 2. Frameworks that help teachers decide where an app would work best in the lesson cycle and how to plan for management and accountability when using apps 3. AppSmashing - putting apps together to make classroom projects Guided hands-on explorations will be included throughout the session and participants will create a culminating project. This session will be device agnostic. Participants with any tablet or laptop will be able to participate. Presentation materials for Tablets in the Classroom 1 2 3 Go are in Edmodo.
