VSTE Goes Green: Over the years we’ve made an effort to reduce the amount of paper waste that gets accumulated by reducing the scope of the printed program. This year we will provide a printed conference program with only a summary schedule of the sessions available during each breakout session. For the full detailed listing of each session we encourage attendees to make use of our online schedule here which will work on mobile devices and all major platforms.

Most teachers want an easier way to create, share, and score with standards-aligned rubrics. They also want a way to organize the outcomes from those assessments in relation to other assessments via a digital standards-based gradebook. They want powerful tools, made easy and accessible in everyday practice. The rGrade Assessment Ecosystem fulfills these goals and many more. In this session, we will focus on using rGrade to develop standards-aligned, interactive rubrics for performance assessment and other purposes in their classroom. Designed for individual teacher or school-wide use, rGrade has numerous integrated modules to support classroom assessment. The Programs module organizes assessment requirements, alignments, and student learning outcomes (SLOs). The Rubrics module lets teachers design and share standards-aligned rubrics that can be integrated into rGrade’s Digital Gradebook. The Digital Gradebook.brings performance assessment into everyday practice, with rosters, course-based assessments, reports, and rGrade’s interactive rubric assessment tool. rGrade’s Reports module organizes evidence of curriculum effectiveness based on student-level data. rGrade can be used on any device and complements 1:1 initiatives as a tool to assess the digital artifacts of student work that might be stored in an LMS (such as Moodle) or Cloud solutions like Google Drive. As an Assessment Management System, rGrade fills the gap between your Student Information System and the classroom “layer” of technologies, which can be an LMS or a CMS.
