VSTE Goes Green: Over the years we’ve made an effort to reduce the amount of paper waste that gets accumulated by reducing the scope of the printed program. This year we will provide a printed conference program with only a summary schedule of the sessions available during each breakout session. For the full detailed listing of each session we encourage attendees to make use of our online schedule here which will work on mobile devices and all major platforms.

Visual Narratives

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Visual Narratives are stories told using mostly images with limited or no text. They can be used in any subject area or grade level to engage students in writing, evaluate student comprehension of subject matter, and encourage student creativity. Learn how to use free software and web-based programs to create comics, graphic novels, video, and ‘green screen without a green screen’ images. Ideas for incorporating visual narratives into classroom instruction will also be discussed.

If you are attending the VISUAL NARRATIVES hands-on session on Tuesday, you can save some time by downloading the free program paint.net which can be found at this website before you come to VSTE. We'll be using this program for one of the techniques we'll be learning during the session. Copies of the program will be available for download during the session in case you are unable to get your copy beforehand.

Because I am a big... Read More →
